Gorgas Memorial Library


The Gorgas Memorial Library's mission is to support WRAIR and NMRC researcher's efforts to perform innovative and accountable research in support of the Warfighter. A key goal is to make relevant literature resources available by providing timely access to biomedical information regardless of original format or location. GML resources and services are available to scientists and staff located in Silver Spring and in the associated overseas labs.

Army Medicine Database globe4.gif AMEDD Virtual Library Selected Databases. Requires AKO account.
e-Books e-Books are accessible by selecting "Find e-Book" when using GML's link resolver, SFX. e-Books are also searchable using GML OneSearch. Access to e-Book content includes current ScienceDirect e-Books in topics of interest, the Army Medicine e-textbook collection globe4.gif, and online e-Books from National Academies Press, Safari IT books online, and others. Note: for ScienceDirect e-Book titles, select WRAIR as the user organization.
MRMC E-Portal globe4.gif MRMC electronic collection, including journals. Requires an Athens account; register for Athens globe4.gif online and see the instructions for Athens under General Resources.
PubMed globe4.gif National Library of Medicine's medical article search interface.

Loansome Doc globe4.gif Enables customers to order articles directly from PubMed. If an item is not available in PubMed see Interlibrary Loan below for further options.
Web of Science globe4.gif Serves basic researchers with workflow optimization tools. Serves administrators with publication impact data.
EndNote / EndNote Web globe4.gif The library offers access through the Web of Science Portal for saving and citing references. The latest release of the software version of EndNote is also available - contact the Enterprise Service Desk to have it downloaded to your computer.
Bibliometrics The library offers bibliometrics services. These products, including Research Impact Analyses, Publication Strategies, and Publication Lists, can be customized per division.
Data Curation Support The library fosters collaborative science at WRAIR/NMRC by providing resources to researchers seeking to develop strategies for data sharing and curation.

Literature Searches:

Expert searches are provided upon request to meet individual needs/requirements to include Animal Use Protocols. Librarians perform Dialog, DTIC, PubMed, FEDRIP, Agricola and other database searches upon request. Search request forms are available in the Library. Literature search requests also may be submitted online using this Search Request form PDF Icon.

Complied by the Gorgas Memorial Library, this annual publication records and highlights WRAIR research published in the journal, book and technical report literature, as well as conference and meeting abstracts and patents.
